The same questions for every applicant

Interview Guides give each job its own set of questions, with answer choices from 1 Poor to 5 Excellent. Your interviewers rate each applicant on the same questions, so you compare people on what they said.

HRGP is an HRIS, and interviews are one part of it. The guide and the scorecard sit on the applicant's hiring step, next to everything else you know about that person.

How interview guides work

  1. Open Interview Guides on the job

Each job has its own guides, one for each interview type in its hiring process, such as a phone, video or in-person interview.

  2. Let HRGP write a draft, or write your own

HRGP can suggest questions with five answer choices. It reads the job title, description and skills. It does not read applicants, résumés, notes or past hiring decisions. Nothing is used until you read it and save it.

  3. Your interviewers get the guide

They can open the scorecard on the applicant's hiring step, or print the questions. Email reminders include a private link that opens this one interview on a phone or tablet.

  4. Pick the answer closest to what you heard

Each interviewer picks an answer for each question, then chooses Hire, Maybe or No and can add a comment. It saves as they go. Nobody sees it until they submit.

  5. See the team's answers

Once an interviewer submits, they can see what the rest of the team said. Submitted scorecards can't be changed.

What keeps it fair and simple

  • The guide locks once the first scorecard is submitted, so every applicant is rated on the same questions.
  • HRGP warns you when a question mentions something that is often not allowed in an interview. You still decide what to ask, and your own lawyer is the right person for legal questions.
  • Interviewers don't see each other's answers until they submit their own.
  • Print a blank guide if you'd rather take notes on paper.
  • AI helps write the questions. It does not rate applicants. People pick the answers and make the decision.

Interview guide questions

Does AI score my applicants?

No. AI can help write the questions and answer choices. Your interviewers pick the answers and your team makes the hiring decision.

Can I write my own questions?

Yes. Choose Write my own instead, or change anything in a draft. Nothing is used until you save it.

Can I change a guide after we start interviewing?

Only until the first scorecard is submitted. After that the guide locks, so everyone is rated on the same questions.

Does an interviewer need to sign in?

On a computer, the scorecard opens in HRGP on the applicant's page. On a phone or tablet, the private link in the email opens it without signing in. The link only opens that interview, and it stops working once submitted or 7 days after the interview.

Is this included in the price?

Yes. Interview Guides are part of the $99 plan, with no per-seat fees.
