Clock in from a phone, approve hours in one place
HRGP's time clock lets employees clock in, start and end breaks, and clock out from My Employee Portal, on a phone or a computer. There is no app to download.
Managers see everyone's hours on the Hours list, fix a missed punch with a reason, and approve the week. Approved hours go into your payroll file and payroll reports.

How the time clock works
An admin turns it on
The time clock starts off. An admin turns it on in Settings, Payroll, and sets the workweek and which breaks are paid.
Employees clock in and out
In My Employee Portal, employees tap Punch in, Start break, End break and Punch out. A double tap is ignored, so nobody punches in twice. They also see today's time, this week's total and how far they are from overtime.
Managers check the hours
The Hours list shows each person's time for the pay period. A missed punch is flagged after 16 hours. To change a time, a manager gives a reason, and HRGP keeps a record of the change.
Approve and send to payroll
Approved hours feed your payroll file and payroll reports, so you don't type them twice.
Built for small, hourly teams
- Breaks under 30 minutes are paid by default. An admin can change that to 20 minutes, or make all breaks paid.
- Overtime is counted for each workweek and flagged on the Hours list before you approve.
- A manager who changes their own time is labeled, so the record stays honest.
- Changing the workweek or the time zone starts with the next full workweek, so a week is never split.
- No fingerprints, face scans or location tracking.
- Employees need a signal to clock in. It works in any phone browser.
Time clock questions
Do employees need to download an app?
No. They sign in to HRGP in their phone's browser and use My Employee Portal.
Can we keep typing hours in by hand?
Yes. The time clock is off until an admin turns it on. Turning it off brings back typed hours.
Is it available outside the US?
Not yet. The time clock, like payroll preparation, is for US companies for now.
Is this included in the price?
Yes. The time clock comes with HRGP's payroll tools, included through June 30, 2027. We'll tell you the price before anything changes.
